General Emmet Burns returns home after the Civil War and is reinstated as his town's sheriff. When a freak accident renders him blind, he struggles to serve out his term with the help of his able deputy, Prentice Bell, until the town's next election. But holding the war-torn community together one last time is tougher than he bargains for. Powder Burns takes place solely from the perspective of a blind sheriff, so the listening audience "sees" events as he would, without sight. Starring John Wesley Shipp (The Flash), Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore show) and Robert Vaughn (The Magnificent Seven).
